The gun is painted flat black. Finish is good, it looks nice and rugged. Upper and lower receiver are made of aluminum cast metal, I guess, so as the free floating R.I.S and the silencer. The feel of this gun is almost the same as the GnP M4 SOPMOD. Even if it is a metal body it is not so heavy and the balance of the gun is good. Maybe I got used with my CA M4 Carbine which is comparably more heavier than the BOYI. Or maybe to its SOPMOD design in which the gun has no metal front sight, and no carry handle.
Upon checking the gun body and parts alignment, I noticed that the rails of the R.I.S are not properly aligned with the rail of the upper receiver. I don’t know with the other unit but in my case there’s about 5 degrees offset when you look a
t it at its front end.
Traces of weld on the R.I.S can be seen also protruding due to reinforcement of metal since its free floating. I need to grind and polish this and then repaint it. There’s no problem on its vertical grip. It fits snugly on the rail of the R.I.S.
The standard high capacity M4 mag is made of metal and plastic. I filled the mag with the free BB’s and rolled it till it ticked then burst it non stop to my test target box till empty. The result is very satisfying since it emptied the magazine till the mag coil lose wind. The only problem that I found is that it wobbled widely inside the mag well. I don’t know if the magazine itself is too small for the mag well or the mag well of the gun itself is having the problem. I need to check it with CA and TM Magazine. There’s a huge gap between the magazine and the magwell, you can even insert a scissor between them.
The Crane Stock is a little bit slimmer than that of CA CQB Crane stock. And have different battery configuration from that of CA. I don’t know if Sub-C type battery will fit in it, since the package freebie battery is mini type. The gun might have looked better if it goes with a standard Crane stock.
I chronoed the gun at the dealer shop and it clocks 320fps. Test fired it using lipoly 11.1V 2300 mah and WTF! What a crazy ROF. You can even call it a laser gun. I know it’s obvious that I used lipoly battery on stock spring, but my point is, no event of misfeeding at that high rate of fire. That’s amazing, so go ahead and check this all-metal airsoft gun at your gunrunners.
