DBOYS AKS-74U Airsoft Gun Review

I went to the shop and…
The salesclerk handed me a beautiful red box… And I know my AK is in there. I opened the box and BAM!!! AKS-74U. I love this gun!! Bin Laden loves it too!! The gun is NOT TOO SHINY; as what I have read in the forums says otherwise.
I put the gun in the chrono and… I got 390 - 393 FPS. Not bad? No. IT’S GREAT!!!

Externals
This is a really beautiful AK. The weight is just right, the receivers seem rock solid, the wood handguard is nice, and the folding stock is really solid as well. One of the best thing that I loved about this gun is the quality of the externals. It’s awesome! Zero wobbles whatsoever, rock solid construction, and still maintains a reasonable weight.

TM Detonics .45 Combat Master Review

Finally my order arrived last week. A brand new spankin TM Detonics 45 Combat Master. Packaging was almost similar with the TM M1911A1. Magazine has a chrome finish however does not depict the real steel counterpart which is made of matte stainless finish. The grip panels are similar of the TM M1911A1 variant and the rear grip is parkerized.

Seams are almost non-existent same as the TM 1911A1 and I would assume for the TM 1911A1 owners, they would appreciate the finish of this gas blow back(GBB). Metal parts are the lower receiver, hammer, trigger, mag release, slide lock.

One thing you will notice instantly is the location of its rear sights is set oddly forward, reducing the sight radius to a bare 4 inches. However the the combat master was not really intended as a target pistol (real steel) so I guess being a replica, it is but logical to follow the original design. Read the rest of this entry »

All China Made Airsoft Guns 101

Things you should know about China LPEGs(Low Powered Electric Guns):

CYMA - Earlier models include the CM027 MP5J and CM028S AK47. Their release for 2006 includes the CM031 which is externally a CA SLR-105 clone but internally similar to its version of the AK47 with a different hop up chamber and inner barrel. They also recently released a TM clone G18c AEP, however their products lack the quality and precision of higher end brands. They also manufacture LPEGs, which are quite popular among beginners.

JIEKE/WELL - The Chinese company that revolutionized the MPEG(Middle Powered Electric Gun) market with the release of their R5 MP5 and R6 M4A1 in mid 2005. Its gearbox and motor proved to be surprisingly durable although both guns suffer from air compression problems. They later released the R7 or M4A1 with full stock and R8 G3SAS which surprised many with its robustness and accuracy. WELL is the first company to release the TM clone of MP7 or R-4.

Double Eagle (DE) - The company that revolutionized LPEGs with its famous M83. Double Eagle has been proven to make exact copies of Tokyo Marui’s weapons with small upgrades, which results in greater durability and utility. Their version of the AK47 and Spetsnaz were met with lukewarm enthusiasm as most other Chinese companies, many unknown, were able to come up with better performing aegs. Their M50 springer rifle was quite popular and easily “upgradeable” to 400fps by simply wrapping the inner barrel and hop up chamber area with teflon tape to seal air leaks. In early 2007, Double Eagle released a version of M4 S-System (the M88) and G&G-based UMP (the M89). Read the rest of this entry »

Help on Buying An Airsoft Pistol

Hi, to my readers.  I’m planning to buy a gbb pistol.  Specifically I’m eying a TM Desert Eagle and HFC M190 w/ compensator.  I want a pistol that is powerful, accurate and reliable. It would be a big plus if it can take green gas, has a metal slide and realistic trademarks.

I want the TM desert eagle for its looks, but I’ve read that it’s not that accurate and cannot take green gas for a long time. And, the HFC M190 w/ compensator for its looks, full metal and green gas ready. But the trademarks are crap.  Let me know what you think about this two. Or, you can suggest other gbb’s you think is better. Thanks, guys!

Other uses for a sniper veil

BB Protection—The most obvious use for a sniper veil is to help you conceal yourself from observation. Most people use it to cover their head/face. However, if wrapped around your neck like a scarf, it helps become a flexible protection tool to bridge the gap between your BDU collar and head gear/face mask.

Mosquito Protection—coupled with a boonie hat/lousy hat, the sniper veil can be wrapped in such a way that it can form a sort of mosquito net.

Gun Wrap—Instead of getting an expensive gun wrap, wrap your sniper veil around your gun. If the terrain is high in vegetation, cut a few stalks and pin it under your sniper veil as you wind it around you gun. Instant camouflage!
