Classic Army Scar-L Airsoft Rifle Review

My unit came with the standard 300 rounder hi-cap magazine which comes in tan color like the CNC machined 1 piece upper metal receiver. It also sports front and rear metal flip up sights, ambi front and rear sling attachments, fire selector and charging handle (screw type which you can place either on the right or left hand side) and mag catch/release button. A retractable 3 position folding stock which comes with an adjustable cheek pad.

NOTE Sorry for the grainy picture, only used a camera phone to take this image.

Battery compartment is also located in the buttstock but can only contain small size battery configuration like an intellect 8.4v 1100mah or in my case a FireFox Li-poly 11.1v 1600mah.

However, when I decided to have an SP130 spring installed. Noticed that the fps rating was not as expected. It only clocked 400-410fps. There seem to be no leaks whatsoever as even uncle Jim of AW suggested. This is still being investigated on to the cause of this problem.

Noticed though the rubber o-ring of the cylinder head exhibited significant wear even after only firing less then 1 hi-cap. Somewhat akin to the fake systema cylinder heads that propagated in the market.

Had this one replaced. Possibly a lemon part on this CA unit that I got, not surprisingly especially coming from CA who has a penchant of having such defects on its parts.

I went on to replacing type-0 cylinder, cylinder head and airseal nozzle which longer than a typical M4 ,a JBU 6.03mm tight barrel and a PDI 190 spring. Shoots around 440-460fps on .2bb’s.

PROS:
* Excellent construction
* Features ambidextrous components
* Very good grouping as compared to the usual 6.08mm inner barrel for the earlier AEG’s from CA
* Ease of breakdown of the unit
* Semi upgraded internals: 7mm metal bearing GB, Alum Ported piston head w/ bearing, metal spring guide w/ bearing, sealed nozzle and cylinder.

CONS
* Small Battery compartment
* Potential for lemon parts is still evident as described above

If not for the cylinder head and low fps output, I should say this new CA unit is a very fine AEG. Have not seen the CQC, but by the way it looks on the CA website, not so much of a difference I think besides the color?

Anyway hope this helps.
